AWRERI and The Water Council sign MOU for International Cooperation

On 21st March, the opening ceremony for AWR Environmental Research Institute (AWRERI) was successfully held at the China Yixing Industrial Park for Environmental Science and Technology (ES&TP). More than 100 delegates from government, industries, research institutes and enterprises were in attendance.
At the ceremony, Prof. Xiaochang Wang, the president of AWRERI and Prof. David Garman, the CTO of The Water council signed MOU between the Water Council and AWRERI. The goals of the MOU are mainly to implement strategies that foster a strategic collaboration aimed at establishing a solid science and technology coalition for the development of applicable technologies targeted to solving the worldwide water environmental problems that restrict sustainable urban development, and to implement strategies that are particularly focused on sponge city construction, healthy urban/basin water cycle management, water/wastewater treatment and energy/resource recovery.

Besides, Prof. Xiaochang Wang and Prof. David Garman introduced AWRERI and The Water council respectively at the ceremony. Prof. David Garman indicated that nowadays challenges and opportunities both exist for water environment protection and it is essential to integrate the concepts and technologies worldwide and realize mutually beneficial co-operation.
